TUESDAYS: Half Primary Series Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga - ILMINSTER, SOMERSET

An after-work Ashtanga Yoga class to help you clear your mind, challenge your balance, work on your strength and flexibility and infuse you with positive energy for the rest of the week. 

  

This class is based on the traditional Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series which focuses on building strength, flexibility and learning about the mind-body connection.  It is a physically demanding type of yoga which is led by breath and meditation as you transition from asana (pose) to asana.  You will be provided with a number of options for each asana so you can choose which option is suitable for your level of ability.  There is no competition, judgement or comparison in yoga - what matters is safe practice which can help calm your mind and challenge your body.  There is no expectation of you being able to do the splits or back bends to join the class.  Just come along to see if Ashtanga is the kind of yoga that you may enjoy.  Expect to work hard and finish with a relaxing yoga Nidra.  This is a mixed abilities class.   


Time: 18:30-19:45 every Tuesday  (there is no class on 13, 20 or 27 August 2019)

THURSDAYS - open air Ashtanga Yoga (near LANGPORT)

Get the best out of living in beautiful Somerset this summer and come along to enjoy yoga under the open sky.  


What to expect?  Ashtanga yoga is a physically demanding type of yoga with a focus on developing strength, flexibility and balance.  You do not need to have previous experience of yoga but should be prepared to put in an effort and work across all your muscles groups and joints, from head to toes, including your lungs!  This class is suitable for beginners and regular practitioners as I provide a range  of options for each pose to make it accessible to everyone.  You do not need to be flexible just come along to give it a try and see if Ashtanga yoga is something for you.  All are welcome.   

 

These are drop in sessions so there is no need to pre-book. You will need to bring own mat or book a spare mat ahead of the lesson.  


LANGPORT

Thursdays: 19:00-20:15

Cost: £8.00 per class

Thursday classes will move back to Langport Town Hall for the colder months.   


What to expect?  Ashtanga yoga is a physically demanding style of yoga with a focus on developing strength, flexibility and balance.  You do not need to have previous yoga experience, be able to touch your toes or do a split. Everyone in the class will have different level of ability and will work with what they have and do what they can to progress. Yoga is not competitive. You will be provided with a range  of options for each pose to make practice accessible.  All abilities are welcome.   


These classes can be attended as a drop in session (no need to pre-book) . A few spare mats are available.


Time: every Thursday 19:00-20:15 (no class 26 Dec 19 or 2 Jan 20)

Cost: £8 if attending as a drop in session (or 10-class pass at £70: must be used by 19 December 2019 - enquire in the class)

One-to-One & Private Group Classes

There are many benefits in learning yoga in a One-to-One environment. You will have the teacher's undivided attention and the lesson will be structured addressing your individual goals. The lesson will be arranged at a time and location convenient for you. 


One-to-One classes are suitable for complete beginners who would like to learn the  fundamentals of yoga at their own pace; those with injuries or illnesses who require personalised consideration of how to modify some poses so that the poses can be accessible to them; or to practising yogis who wish to deepen their practice  or revise their alignment or technique.
